Partners & Donors
Kiva's mission is to connect people through lending for the sake of alleviating poverty. Kiva is the world's first person-to-person micro-lending website, empowering individuals to lend directly to unique entrepreneurs in the developing world. As a partner, GHAPE is able to upload profiles of individual clients on Kiva and raise funds for those loans from individuals all over the world. Kiva supplies the raised funds to GHAPE at 0% interest rate and the loans are paid back on the same loan schedule as the GHAPE client. Kiva has also donated 5 digital cameras with all the accessories.
Ministry of Women’s Affairs
Attend forums and conferences, participate in annual events, host university students interning with the Provincial Delegation of Women’s Affairs; participate in discussions with the National Observatory for Women which oversees the policies concerning the status of women. The ministry has invited GHAPE employees to an number of conferences and on occasion, sponsored GHAPE clients who may need an extra hand.
German Development Service (DED)
DED provided Uninterrupted Power Supply and training totaling a cost of 290,000 CFA in January 2004. They also donated 510,000 CFA for the purchase of a computer and printer in 2003. In 2004, DED donated 3,140,000 CFA for the purchase of three motorbikes and 6 helmets.
German Embassy
The German Embassy donated two cassava mills to GHAPE centers costing 1,200,000 CFA in March 2004. The two cassava mills are now used for clients in those centers to use free of charge. They charge other community members to use their mill and keep the funds for use in the center.
Helvatas
Helvatas provided a grant of 5,000,000 CFA to be given in loans to members in August, 2003. these loans were distributed to members of Center 6 in Ntsualam, Mankon.
Netherland Development Service (SNV)
SNV has provided technical support and has organized workshops and training for GHAPE staff. They have also donated a computer and created a video about GHAPE. SNV evaluated the GHAPE program and provided a report on their findings.
Individuals
KivaFriends:
KivaFriends are a group of Kiva members who, independently of KIva, has become a donor to GHAPE. They have so far donated 3,117,655 CFA, $3,00 USD, for the purchase of . GHAPE purchased 2 computers, 2 uninterrupted power supplies, 1 laser jet printer, and 1 USB cable.
Kxxxxxxx
Kxxxx is based in the US. This lender joined GHAPE as an individual lender in March 2009. The loan of $2,000.00 was given as expansion capital to ten borrowers in GHAPE Belo Branch.
Nelson Ngoh
Dr Ngoh is a professor at the University of Bridgeport, CT. He joined GHAPE as a lender in April 2009. His loan of $1,000.00 was given as seed and expansion capital to XX borrowers. GHAPE will repay this loan in June, 2011.
